S Plotz #1 - Till We Have Faces Blogging Assignment

"Finally!" I thought after ordering Orual to stop speaking, "Orual is speaking in the voice I created for her. So long, had she fought to change it, so long did she try to reject who was behind the vail. But now, at last she is free." Looking down at the Orual, her elderly figure did not mask the vulnerable, young heart that was hidden for so long. I knew her words were not what she intended to speak to me, or any of the other gods, but nothing in that book she wrote to herself would was needed. Her testimony was something I understood more then she will ever know, but that is okay. By no means can I condemn her for all she first did to her sister, nor for her lack of understanding. This story she has written, yes it has occurred, but her story is not the story that is in full, for the ending of that story has not yet to come to past. Her ramblings and griefs that she chanted continuously are everything she has pushed away form, but as she is now realizing, it did not ever leave her. Orual was always there behind whom she called The Queen. Orual was never erased, while she might have thought only what the Fox taught her had The Queen held onto her true self as well. She was still whom I said she was. Before anything else, she was still Orual.

In the silence I continued to look down upon her. She remained speechless, but not from terror, rather she was for once, allowing Orual to breathe again, taking in each and every breath in through her nose and out her mouth. The cycle repeated, her skin regained color I knew her burden began to lighten. I held the silence in the room allowing its healing hands continue to engulf her. And in this silence, I told her, "I love you. I always will. The sacrifices that have been made, the actions that seemed so unjust are not without a happy ending. You have done so well, and you will continue to so in this life and the next."
