Orual's Trial - James Carlson (AKA. God)

Orual, I speak to you now not because you were compelled to judge me and my heavenly designs but because I have chosen to judge YOU based on the decisions you have made, the pain you have caused and the evil you have perpetrated. Why question my motives when I have cared for you since birth? Were you not born a princess? Were you not cared for by the wise man you know as the Fox? You call yourself ugly, but is it not your belief in that insult that makes it so? You have overlooked all my blessing only to dwell upon the things, you believe, discredit them. While these are offenses that cannot be denied, they are not the reason for your trial today. It is for the part you played in the cruelty suffered by your half-sister Psyche, my greatest gift to you, that you stand trial. The selfishness with which you chose to exhibit in your supposed "love" of that blessed creature, eventually causing the loss of her fated position in paradise, cannot be overlooked. Orual, you have committed one of the gravest sins a mortal can enact, the betrayal of one you love. You let your fear of losing Psyche rule you and enflame your passions. I know the truth of why you accuse me of wrong-doing. You cannot face the reality of the situation, that you are the soul cause of the thing you love most's greatest pain and grandest mistake. You abused your sister's trust and moreover caused her downfall. Because of these aforementioned transgressions I find you, Orual, guilty of rampant selfishness and abusive love. But in regards of your punishment, I abstain from rendering a penalty. While you rightfully deserve an equal share of the cruelty you caused Psyche, I believe the pain of your hatred all these long years and the personal degradation of your selfish love punishment enough. I am choosing mercy because I know what you went through and although the decisions you made came out of a selfish love of your sister, it was, at least, a meager resemblance of love that motivated you. Be at peace, Orual. You are forgiven.
