Ransom describes space

The image I remember most vividly in the Space Trilogy was Ransom’s description of space. He said it was full of life, even more than our world. I think I was attracted to this because I have never been told space is anything but empty and dead. That being said, I have never been to space, I’ve just trusted what I have been told. Ransom was surprised by this too. This makes me think that you can’t really know anything until you experience it yourself. It was also a striking moment for me in the book simply because of Lewis’ prose.
