The Moment and the Memory

The discussions in class, revolving around what experiencing something is, were really interesting to me. The idea that there is a moment where you are in the experience and the next you are not is wild to me. Thinking about how you are happy and being happy are different. It makes me think that we can never linger on one moment or one feeling, because we are not capable of not analyzing ourselves during our daily lives. It is not a bad thing I say, but instead is a good thing. It means we never stop learning about ourselves. No one is made of one feeling or one moment. We can constantly redefine ourselves in any fashion we wish. We are forced to by the world around us. We even discussed how good stories can teach us things about our world. No matter if you deal only in this reality, or the realities created by stories and other art, your memories are going to fluidly shift and change.
