In the same way that I was able to enter
into the creation account in the Magicians Nephew as a child, I can also
remember being able to enter the world of the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.
I actually wrote part of my final essay on this topic. The idea that as
children, we are in a liminal place between not having a fully constructed
secondary world nor being fully immersed in the primary world like “water in
water.” Because children are constantly looking for more of a constructed
secondary world, they are able to enter into fantasy stories in a way that most
adults never could because they are looking for something to latch onto.
