Outside Reading #5 The Bible

Almost on a daily basis, I try and spend time in the word of God. I have been trying to break into this discipline for several years and feel that I am starting to really come into my own with it. But growing up in the church spending so much time around the Bible, it is astounding how much of the Bible is in almost all of Lewis's writing. Lewis has even said that the Chronicles of Narnia was not supposed to be an allegory of anything spiritual, but it so clearly has a sacrificial King/God in the character of Aslan. I think that this goes to show that if you spend enough time around other people or just pondering certain ideas like Christianity, that they will just flow out of you just like the person of Jesus manifested itself in the character of Aslan when Lewis has said that that was not what he was going for.
