The story itself here then, although it contains a song, is very literally also an extrapolating source of this meaning. Although the occurrence of Aslan singing is actually occurring in Narnia, it is a narrative story explaining the occurrences within our own biblical stories. This sort of narrative framework is something we discussed in great detail at the very beginning of the semester and is something that has pervaded my life since we have discussed it.

Sam Atkinson, Discussion of Creation in Narnia
One of the more interesting conversations of the semester (primarily because it was over a fire with hamburgers and stories) was one of our discussions over the creation story which takes place in the Magicians Nephew. I remember us discussing the nature of his singing Narnia into existence. One particularly fascinating aspect I found within this discussion was the importance of artistic expression in formulating the world as we understand it. Music and really all forms of art depict things which occur in real life, or at least ideas that occur in real life, with some bit of embellishment. This embellishment is the color to the world within which we live. This color is what brings harmonious life to all we see, bringing meaning to these things.
